EiQ, Risk Assesment supply chain

Risk assessments in our supply chain

EiQ, the supply chain intelligence platform from LRQA, equips Bystronic with the tools needed for comprehensive ESG risk assessments. Leveraging insights from on-site audit data and reputable civil society sources, Bystronic can thoroughly evaluate environmental, social, and governance risks.

Bystronic is committed to integrating sustainability into every facet of the company. For evaluating external suppliers, we rely on the advanced EiQ software.

This assessment is meticulously categorized into two main areas: labor risks and environmental risks, with various subcategories within each section receiving individual ratings. Within labor risks, topics such as “fair wage”, “health and safety” and “forced labor and modern slavery” are evaluated. Within environmental risks, topics such was “water consumption”, “climate change” and “water pollution” are looked at.

“We consider evaluating risks to be essential for sustainably accelerating our supply chain.”

Daniel Widmer
Senior Manager Global Supply Chain

At Bystronic, every supplier has undergone a comprehensive assessment, revealing that 477 suppliers pose a significant overall risk. Notably, none of the suppliers fall into the extreme-risk category.

Among these high-risk suppliers, Bystronic wields considerable influence over 14, categorized as having extreme leverage, and 52, deemed to have high leverage. These suppliers are prioritized for subsequent actions, such as the implementation of preventive and remedial measures.

The evaluation encompassed Bystronic plants located in Germany, Switzerland, China (Tianjin and Shanghai), the United States, Italy, Romania, and the Netherlands.
